WHAT IS “CELPIP”?
CELPIP, or the Canadian English Language Proficiency Index Program, is an internationally recognized English language assessment used to evaluate an individual’s proficiency. The test is offered in two formats: CELPIP General, which covers all four language skills, and CELPIP General LS, focusing on listening and speaking.
This test is fully computerized and completed in one sitting, specifically designed for Canadian immigration purposes. Results from the CELPIP are available online within eight business days, with an Express Rating option that delivers results in just three days. The exam is administered by Paragon Testing Enterprises, an affiliate of the University of British Columbia.
The CELPIP test encompasses various modules, including Reading, Writing, Listening, and Speaking. To accommodate these, test centers are equipped with modern infrastructure, such as PCs with keyboards and mice for the reading and writing sections, and computers with microphones and headsets for the listening and speaking parts.
